I live in Cincinnati, Ohio with my two sons, Dane and Mark.  We enjoy playing ice hockey, snow skiing, riding dirt bikes, and scuba diving. In addition to teaching and chairing two departments at IWU, I am also an assistant hockey coach for my son's travel team.  My favorite things about teaching at IWU are writing courses and helping students to achieve more than they think they are capable of.

I became a Christian at seventeen, near the end of my junior year in high school.  I was alone at home, watching Jack Hayford preaching on television.  My spiritual journey has been one of continual, subtle growth and frequent shortfalls, which, as I have learned from the Apostle Paul, is part of the bargain: “I do not understand what I do.  What I want to do, I do not do, but what I hate I do.”  My boys and I attend Eastside Christian Church in Milford, Ohio.  I also lead a Bible study for my son's travel hockey team.  It is a blessing to see young athletes who miss church due to their hockey schedule grow in their maturity and faith through meeting to study God's word in hotel lobbies all over the Midwest!
