Richard.Schenck@indwes.edu

I have a B.A. in History from Olivet Nazarene University and an M.A. in Religion also from Olivet. I did additional studies in Sociology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Bowling Green State University. My Post Graduate degree is from Lancaster Theological Seminary where I earned a D.Min., specializing in Church and Society. I have been an Instructor for the following Colleges or Universities: Nazarene Bible College (Extension Site), Ivy Tech State College, Northwood University and Vincennes University. I was also an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Ball State University. I am an Ordained Minister in The Wesleyan Church and have Pastored or been on the Staff of the Church of the Nazarene and the Wesleyan Church over a period of thirty-three years. I have also had experience as a full-time Chaplain in Hospitals and Healthcare Institutions. I was the Director of Stewardship Services for The Wesleyan Church before coming to Noblesville, Indiana three years ago as a Co-Pastor of the Lakeview Wesleyan Church with my wife, Carol, who is also an Ordained Minister. I am also presently the Executive Director of Stewardship Outreach Strategies, Inc. (An Affiliate Not-for-Profit Organization in The Wesleyan Church)

I have been married to Rev. Carol (Osborn) Schenck for 36 years. We have two children; Richie, age 31, and Richelle, age 29. Richelle and her husband, Ted, have our first granddaughter, Charlotte Rose, age 15 months. Our family all lives in the Indianapolis area. Being in the pastoral ministry, we have moved many times over the years; living in Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Florida and Ohio. We have been blessed to have met many people and ministered to a diversity of cultures and places. We are a very close family and enjoy spending time together as often as we can. We like the Arts, Entertainment and enjoy eating together at various Restaurants. We are also Sports enthusiasts, particularly when the Indianapolis Colts are playing and in basketball, we are Butler University fans. My son and I are big New York Yankee fans.

I was born into a Pastor's home and attended Church regularly with my family. At the age of five, I accepted Christ as my Savior and He became the center of my identity as a person. As I grew and matured, that commitment I made to Christ at such an early age became clear to me. Although I passed through my share of growing pains spiritually, I have always stayed true to my early commitment, and have grown in my faith through the empowering of the Holy Spirit in my life. God energizes me and through Christ's Spirit grants the focus I need to proceed on my journey of life.
