I have a personal relationship and commitment to Christ.  I believe He taught and died for each of us so that we will have life with the Father through Him.  I believe that God continues to work in this world and speaks to us through the Bible, through prayer, and in all parts of our lives when we open our hearts to Him.  I was raised in a Christian home and had always attended youth Sunday school and church, but I really came to Christ while in college. It was a combination of taking theology classes, which deepened my understanding of Christ’s teaching, as well as feeling the need for Christ’s guidance in my life.  My faith journey has not  been without challenges. There have often been times I have fallen short of what I had intended and have sought forgiveness. Throughout my life, God has been faithful to me. Since joining the faculty of IWU, my faith has deepened, as I have been surrounded by students and faculty who have challenged me to study more and to live my faith in a far more open manner, with a greater emphasis on bringing others to Christ.  I have always been an active member in a local church, wherever my family and I have lived.  Currently, we are members of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Carmel, Indiana.
